Carrie + Joe: Featured!

Carrie and Joe had the most beautiful September wedding at The Inn at Huntingfield Creek in Maryland. Their two shar peis wore floral collars, Carrie donned the most incredible BHLDN gown, and it was all captured by my talented friend Carly, owner of Two Spoons Photography.

I am also thrilled to say that Carrie and Joe’s wedding was featured on one of my favorite wedding blogs, A Practical Wedding, yesterday!

Winding down.

With my 2015 wedding season winding down, (6 more to go!) I’m starting to do a little reflecting on the past year, and making plans for next. Frequently, I find myself in disbelief that I have been able to work with such incredible clients, and have had the opportunity to work with so many of my favorite friends/fellow wedding vendors frequently.  I am a really lucky woman

Theresa and Seth were married on October 10th in Richmond, Virginia. All photos by the incomparable Kate of Betty Clicker Photography.

The Big Scary Thing

I made a huge leap of faith recently, and it’s the most terrifying thing I’ve ever done. After 4 1/2 years, I put in my notice at the wonderful company I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of. I am so lucky and excited to be able to focus solely on my floral design business on a full time basis moving forward.

Don’t worry, this isn’t going to be a pep talk or a post talking about how easy the transition is– because it hasn’t been for me. I’m terrified, but also SO ready and eager to dive into this new chapter! Cheers, friends! It’s going to be awesome.

The Mountains

“The mountains and calling and I must go.” -John Muir

My trip to Montana for an intimate Destination wedding in July changed my heart. I’ve never experienced natural beauty so grand, so intensely different than things I’ve seen before. Almost every day I think about the trickling streams, the abundance of native wild ferns, time with my best friend, and the twinkling stars freckling the sky. Is it time to go back? More coming soon.

Now booking Destination weddings for 2016 and beyond. (Hey, it won’t happen unless I put it out there, right?)
